The worst performers of the session were Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (T:), which fell 2.60% or 95.0 points to trade at 3561.0 at the close. Takara Holdings Inc. (T:) declined 2.54% or 26.0 points to end at 996.0 and Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (T:) was down 2.47% or 32.0 points to 1263.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1785 to 1647 and 257 ended unchanged.
