Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.16%, while the index climbed 0.42%, and the index added 1.38%.

The best performers of the session on the were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 1.48% or 3.10 points to trade at 213.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) added 1.41% or 2.13 points to end at 153.12 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:) was up 1.31% or 0.500 points to 38.725 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:), which fell 3.60% or 0.349 points to trade at 9.333 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:) declined 2.16% or 6.35 points to end at 287.85 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:) was down 1.52% or 0.860 points to 55.665.

The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 8.30% to 60.050, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which was up 6.33% to settle at 127.700 and Varta AG (DE:) which gained 4.27% to close at 119.600.

The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (DE:) which was down 7.29% to 49.880 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which lost 2.57% to settle at 28.780 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.92% to 117.65 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:) which rose 10.05% to 20.26, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 9.36% to settle at 55.500 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 8.30% to close at 60.050.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.57% to 28.780 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:) which lost 1.51% to settle at 2.284 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 0.97% to 34.270 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 358 to 297 and 39 ended unchanged.

Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.33% or 7.600 to 127.700. Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 9.36% or 4.750 to 55.500.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.98% to 23.27.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.63% or 11.50 to $1841.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.34% or 0.70 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.30% or 1.26 to trade at $56.01 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.2128, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8905.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 90.472.
