Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.71% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 1.71%, while the index declined 1.75%, and the index lost 2.20%.

The best performers of the session on the were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:), which rose 0.67% or 0.95 points to trade at 142.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (ETR:) added 0.58% or 1.30 points to end at 225.20 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) was up 0.32% or 0.24 points to 75.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:), which fell 8.46% or 2.92 points to trade at 31.59 at the close. HelloFresh SE (ETR:) declined 7.65% or 2.79 points to end at 33.68 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) was down 4.93% or 2.01 points to 38.79.

The top performers on the MDAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 4.16% to 98.72, Sixt SE (ETR:) which was up 1.11% to settle at 127.60 and Befesa SA (ETR:) which gained 0.94% to close at 59.30.

The worst performers were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) which was down 6.67% to 17.22 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which lost 6.33% to settle at 172.25 and Hypoport AG (ETR:) which was down 5.53% to 235.80 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which rose 0.44% to 2.72, Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 0.21% to settle at 24.15 and 11 AG (ETR:) which lost 0.10% to close at 19.11.

The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 7.17% to 38.82 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which lost 6.01% to settle at 48.50 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.55% to 10.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 518 to 159 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zalando SE (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.46% or 2.92 to 31.59. Shares in Hypoport AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.53% or 13.80 to 235.80. Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.17% or 3.00 to 38.82. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.55% or 0.61 to 10.30.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.22% or 4.05 to $1,852.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.25% or 0.31 to hit $121.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.19 to trade at $123.39 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 103.05.
