Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.48%, while the index lost 0.54%, and the index fell 0.79%.

The best performers of the session on the were Zalando SE (DE:), which rose 2.44% or 1.06 points to trade at 44.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Puma SE (DE:) added 2.02% or 1.46 points to end at 73.76 and Brenntag AG (DE:) was up 1.21% or 0.86 points to 71.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:), which fell 9.09% or 1.08 points to trade at 10.84 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:) declined 2.51% or 1.03 points to end at 39.97 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) was down 1.87% or 0.77 points to 40.48.

The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:) which rose 5.08% to 13.13, Aixtron SE (DE:) which was up 3.96% to settle at 21.28 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:) which gained 3.58% to close at 167.90.

The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 8.47% to 6.42 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which lost 6.84% to settle at 25.05 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:) which was down 3.72% to 67.35 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:) which rose 5.08% to 13.13, Aixtron SE (DE:) which was up 3.96% to settle at 21.28 and Siltronic AG (DE:) which gained 1.69% to close at 87.25.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 6.84% to 25.05 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which lost 3.65% to settle at 16.48 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (DE:) which was down 3.26% to 81.65 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 384 to 309 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.51% or 1.03 to 39.97.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.78% to 29.07.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.34% or 26.20 to $1,974.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 7.05% or 6.65 to hit $100.94 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 6.48% or 6.38 to trade at $104.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 100.21.
