U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.00% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the gained 1.00%, while the index climbed 1.46%, and the index climbed 2.50%.

The best performers of the session on the were Boeing Co (NYSE:), which rose 9.46% or 11.56 points to trade at 133.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:) added 2.97% or 7.27 points to end at 251.76 and Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:) was up 2.67% or 7.53 points to 290.07 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dow Inc (NYSE:), which fell 1.96% or 1.15 points to trade at 57.41 at the close. Chevron Corp (NYSE:) declined 1.96% or 3.29 points to end at 164.26 and Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:) was down 0.99% or 1.33 points to 132.51.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Boeing Co (NYSE:) which rose 9.46% to 133.72, Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 7.50% to settle at 180.11 and Warner Bros Discovery Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 6.22% to close at 14.85.

The worst performers were Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 4.07% to 128.30 in late trade, Schlumberger NV (NYSE:) which lost 3.93% to settle at 41.52 and Marathon Petroleum Corp (NYSE:) which was down 3.67% to 98.90 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Sidus Space Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 225.00% to 4.68, Evoke Pharma Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 47.06% to settle at 3.00 and Zhong Yang Financial Group Ltd (NASDAQ:) which gained 41.00% to close at 31.02.

The worst performers were 180 Life Sciences Corp (NASDAQ:) which was down 34.00% to 0.88 in late trade, Apptech Corp (NASDAQ:) which lost 33.80% to settle at 0.56 and Aditx Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 27.79% to 0.18 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2313 to 860 and 114 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2806 rose and 1080 declined, while 185 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zhong Yang Financial Group Ltd (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; rising 41.00% or 9.02 to 31.02. Shares in Aditx Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 27.79% or 0.07 to 0.18.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.31% or 23.80 to $1,837.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.42% or 2.88 to hit $116.05 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 2.15 to trade at $119.02 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.05, while USD/JPY fell 1.33% to 133.68.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 104.55.
