Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the added 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the were Konami Corp. (TYO:), which rose 5.65% or 450.00 points to trade at 8,410.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Inpex Corp. (TYO:) added 5.64% or 83.00 points to end at 1,555.00 and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (TYO:) was up 5.30% or 450.00 points to 8,940.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 10.86% or 509.00 points to trade at 4,177.00 at the close. Dentsu Inc. (TYO:) declined 6.16% or 290.00 points to end at 4,415.00 and Unitika, Ltd. (TYO:) was down 6.02% or 16.00 points to 250.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1837 to 1698 and 216 ended unchanged.
Shares in Konami Corp. (TYO:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 5.65% or 450.00 to 8,410.00. Shares in Unitika, Ltd. (TYO:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.02% or 16.00 to 250.00.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 1.31% to 26.40.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.26% or 0.29 to $111.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.16% or 0.18 to hit $114.06 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.60% or 10.90 to trade at $1,824.90 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.10% to 129.29, while EUR/JPY rose 0.36% to 135.21.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.98.
