The worst performers of the session were Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (T:), which fell 3.34% or 105.0 points to trade at 3035.0 at the close. Advantest Corp. (T:) declined 2.97% or 270.0 points to end at 8830.0 and Hitachi Zosen Corp. (T:) was down 2.93% or 19.0 points to 630.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2076 to 1436 and 218 ended unchanged.

USD/JPY was up 0.10% to 103.70, while EUR/JPY rose 0.04% to 126.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 90.233.
