Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 2.22% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 2.22%, while the index lost 1.96%, and the index declined 1.04%.

The best performers of the session on the were E.ON SE (ETR:), which rose 1.00% or 0.09 points to trade at 8.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Brenntag AG (ETR:) added 0.21% or 0.14 points to end at 67.00 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:) was up 0.10% or 0.05 points to 49.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:), which fell 6.84% or 3.94 points to trade at 53.64 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) declined 5.87% or 3.42 points to end at 54.86 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:) was down 4.62% or 3.36 points to 69.44.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which rose 3.09% to 156.60, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which was up 0.39% to settle at 25.56 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) which gained 0.04% to close at 14.15.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:) which was down 10.99% to 5.02 in late trade, Duerr AG (ETR:) which lost 8.05% to settle at 20.10 and Rational AG (ETR:) which was down 5.98% to 495.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which rose 1.45% to 21.05, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which was up 0.39% to settle at 25.56 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:) which gained 0.10% to close at 49.08.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:) which was down 5.30% to 62.20 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:) which lost 4.12% to settle at 66.40 and Suse SA (ETR:) which was down 3.79% to 18.76 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 521 to 160 and 72 ended unchanged.

Shares in Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.87% or 3.42 to 54.86. Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:) fell to all time lows; falling 10.99% or 0.62 to 5.02. Shares in Duerr AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.05% or 1.76 to 20.10. Shares in Rational AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.98% or 31.50 to 495.00. Shares in Varta AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.30% or 3.48 to 62.20.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.22% to 28.66.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.35 to $1,722.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.36% or 2.05 to hit $88.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.96% or 2.75 to trade at $95.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 109.80.
