Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 2.18%, while the index climbed 2.05%, and the index added 1.84%.

The best performers of the session on the were Vonovia SE (ETR:), which rose 5.41% or 1.26 points to trade at 24.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) added 5.27% or 0.59 points to end at 11.70 and Adidas AG (ETR:) was up 4.93% or 6.50 points to 138.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:), which fell 2.40% or 0.95 points to trade at 38.67 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:) declined 1.09% or 1.75 points to end at 159.35 and Linde PLC (ETR:) was up 0.35% or 1.05 points to 300.70.

The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:) which rose 5.95% to 43.06, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was up 5.83% to settle at 6.99 and Kion Group AG (ETR:) which gained 5.61% to close at 31.83.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.45% to 115.35 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which lost 2.30% to settle at 59.35 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which was down 0.75% to 199.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (ETR:) which rose 7.61% to 25.59, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 6.64% to settle at 14.36 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which gained 3.77% to close at 29.72.

The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 2.30% to 59.35 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which lost 0.70% to settle at 12.77 and Suse SA (ETR:) which was down 0.61% to 17.87 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 519 to 166 and 72 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.32% to 19.82.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.68% or 12.50 to $1,858.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.16% or 3.20 to hit $73.73 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 4.10% or 3.37 to trade at $78.73 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 103.99.
